David Simon

About Me

David Simon was raised in San Diego, where he spent the best part of his youth fishing along the Southern California coastline and searching for magical dive spots in Baja California with friends and family. While attending the University of California at Berkeley, and later Santa Cruz (UCSC) he became deeply interested in questions about human nature and spiritual development, and became a serious practitioner of Martial Arts and Hatha Yoga.  David graduated from UCSC with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology, the study of the elusive connection between the body and mind.

After teaching and practicing yoga for several years on Kauai he moved to Seattle, Washington to pursue a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and graduated from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in 1996.  Over the past 16 years, David has practiced Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, and received training in numerous forms of Natural Healing, such as, Craniosacral therapy, Pilates, bio-identical hormone replacement, and many forms of dietary and nutritional cleansing and rejuvenation.

Since moving back to Florida with his wife in 2008, David has practiced Acupuncture at several clinics in the Largo area, taught Yoga, Tai Chi, and Chi Gong classes, and worked toward the completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree at St. Petersburg College (SPC).  Having successfully completed all of the Florida requirements to practice as a PTA, David currently divides his time between working as an Acupuncturist at Coastal Chiropractic Rehab & Wellness in Seminole, and working as a licensed PTA at St. Petersburg General Hospital and at the Sabal Palms Health Care Center.  When he is not working, David enjoys gardening and kayak fishing near his home in Indian Rocks Beach.
